The IGJ Moves Forward with the Digitalization of Registration Procedures for All Filings

As part of its efforts to modernize and reduce bureaucracy within the business ecosystem, the General Inspectorate of Justice (Inspección General de Justicia – IGJ) has implemented the digitalization of registration certificates for all of its procedures.

In accordance with the provisions of IGJ General Resolution No. 5/2026, the IGJ confirmed on its website that, as of August 10, 2026, all registered documentation will no longer be issued in paper format.

Once a registration has been approved, the IGJ will issue a digital registration certificate, digitally signed by the competent official, together with the corresponding documentation. These documents will be sent to the interested party through the Trámites a Distancia (TAD) online platform. The digital documentation will have the same legal validity as documentation traditionally issued in physical format.

The new system also eliminates the requirement to submit simple copies and wide-margin copies of the original instrument, as well as the need to appear in person at the IGJ’s offices to collect registered documentation.

The measure is intended to streamline processing times and reduce operating costs for both entities and the IGJ itself.

While this measure represents a significant step forward in the digitalization of registration procedures, the next challenge will be to move toward the digital filing of applications and documents, thereby completing the modernization and simplification of the registration process.
