PROFILE

Before joining BARREIRO as a partner, María Soledad González developed her career for more than 20 years at one of the most prestigious firms in Buenos Aires.

Her professional practice focuses on Tax Law, with specialization in tax litigation related to national, provincial, and municipal taxes, as well as criminal-tax matters. She has advised and represented national and international clients in complex litigation, as well as in the design of comprehensive compliance and tax planning strategies.

Throughout her career, she has worked with leading companies in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, banking, oil & gas, automotive, tobacco, retail, mining, and software, among others.

Soledad has extensive experience in defending clients in tax litigation at all stages and in proceedings before different tax collection agencies. In particular, she has strong experience in preparing defenses within the framework of tax assessment procedures, administrative proceedings, inspections, and criminal tax cases, as well as in drafting declaratory actions, extraordinary appeals, and refund claims. She also advises on compliance with promotional regimes and provides comprehensive support in corporate reorganizations and tax audits. She has participated in complex reviews aimed at identifying legal risks and analyzing regulatory compliance at the national, provincial, and municipal levels.

In addition, she complements her practice with solid academic training in tax law, criminal-tax law, artificial intelligence, and new technologies applied to law, giving her a strategic and up-to-date perspective on contemporary legal challenges.
