Province of Buenos Aires: DPPJ expands remote filing procedures

Files that have not been digitized may opt for the digital route, and starting October 1, 2026, complaints must be filed exclusively online.

The Provincial Directorate of Legal Entities of the Province of Buenos Aires (DPPJ) issued DPPJ Provision 64/2026, which expands the ability to carry out registry procedures remotely.

The rule allows files numbered below 260,000 that have not yet been digitized to be processed digitally, without first having to request digitization of the entire file. It also amends the fee structure for the File Digitization Request and requires complaints before the agency to be filed exclusively in digital form.

Until now, digital processing of filings made after incorporation was mandatory for files numbered 260,000 and above, under DPPJ Provision 306/2025. For earlier files, access to this method required first requesting full digitization of their records.

The key points of the new Provision are set out below:

1. Digital processing option

The new rule allows the DPPJ’s Digital Forms platform to be used to carry out, remotely, registry filings made after incorporation or initial registration, even when the file’s records have not been digitized. This option is available for legal entities and contracts identified by file numbers below 260,000.

This method is optional for the filer. A file is considered previously digitized when the File Digitization Request under section 8 of Annex I of the Digital Processing Regulations (DPPJ Provision 44/2021, consolidated text per DPPJ Provision 70/2024) has been completed.

2. Submission of records

Those who opt for digital processing must submit the relevant records in accordance with section 4.4.4 of the Regulations. This is not required when the file has been fully digitized or when the records needed for the filing are already available in digital format. In those cases, the filer must expressly state that this exception is being used.

Records may be submitted as copies digitally certified by a notary public or by the DPPJ, or as copies digitally signed by a lawyer or a certified public accountant (or other economic sciences professional) authorized in the filing, as a sworn statement.

For civil associations and foundations, copies digitally signed by DPPJ delegates, officials of the Ombudsman’s Office of the Province of Buenos Aires, or other authorized officials may also be submitted.

3. File digitization costs

The File Digitization Request requires payment of a general filing fee plus a “Miscellaneous Procedures” fee for every three case files. If the special fee under Law 14,028 is chosen, a priority fee must also be paid for every three case files.

Where the file contains more than 15 case files, a cap of five administrative fees applies, and five priority fees where applicable, although the digitization will cover the entire file.

If deteriorated or missing documentation is found during the process, the DPPJ will notify the applicant and begin the corresponding procedure to locate or reconstruct the records.

4. Complaints online only

Starting October 1, 2026, all complaints relating to legal entities, persons, or contracts within the DPPJ’s oversight authority must be filed exclusively in digital form, through the Digital Forms platform available at gba.gob.ar/dppj.

The provision takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette, except for the new complaint-filing regime, which takes effect on October 1, 2026.
